The Department of Social Welfare, Government of Karnataka, has officially launched the online application process for the SSLC Prize Money and Post-Matric Prize Money schemes for the academic year 2026-27.

These schemes are designed to encourage Scheduled Caste (SC) students to excel in their studies by providing financial incentives for outstanding academic performance.

🎓 What is SSLC Prize Money?

The SSLC Prize Money Scheme provides cash incentives to SC students who pass the SSLC examination in the first attempt with a minimum of 60% marks.

Prize Amount

  • 60% to 74.99% Marks – ₹7,000

  • 75% and Above – ₹15,000

  • District Topper – ₹1,00,000

🎓 What is Post-Matric Prize Money?

The Post-Matric Prize Money Scheme rewards SC students who complete higher education courses in first class.

Incentive Amount

  • II PUC / 3-Year Diploma – ₹20,000

  • Degree – ₹25,000

  • Post Graduation – ₹30,000

  • Engineering / Medical / Agriculture / Veterinary Courses – ₹35,000

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To apply, the student must:

  • Belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.

  • Be a permanent resident of Karnataka.

  • Have passed the qualifying examination in the first attempt.

  • Secure the minimum marks prescribed under the scheme.

  • Have an Aadhaar-linked active bank account.
